Infertility is a deeply personal and often isolating experience, affecting 1 in 6 people worldwide. But here in Charlotte, North Carolina, a powerful force offers hope, connection, and community—Sarah and the RESOLVE infertility support group in Charlotte, NC.
Sarah knows this path intimately. After over a decade of navigating infertility, she was diagnosed with PCOS, Endometriosis, and poor egg quality. A combination that made her journey to motherhood complex and emotionally draining.
After enduring multiple unsuccessful rounds of IUI, Sarah and her husband went through three egg retrievals and transferred seven of their own genetically related embryos — none of which led to a sustained pregnancy. Along the way, Sarah experienced three heartbreaking miscarriages, including one at 18 weeks. Ultimately, they turned to IVF using donor embryos, a decision that allowed them to complete their family. Through this long and winding journey, Sarah gained deep insight into the physical and emotional toll of infertility. A perspective shaped by hope, loss, and unwavering perseverance.
Sarah uses her experience to support others as a group leader for RESOLVE: The National Infertility Association.
RESOLVE: The National Infertility Association is a national nonprofit dedicated to supporting people facing infertility by offering access to care, advocacy, education, and community. Whether individuals are exploring fertility treatments, considering adoption, or choosing to live child-free, RESOLVE provides judgment-free spaces and powerful resources.
One of the organization’s most impactful efforts is its nationwide network of support groups—and Charlotte is lucky to have one of them.
The Charlotte General Infertility Support Group meets monthly to provide a safe, inclusive, and welcoming space for women navigating infertility. The group meets in person on the first Monday of each month and virtually on the third Monday, making it easy to attend no matter where you’re located in North Carolina.
This infertility support group in Charlotte, NC, is open to all women, no matter where they are in their fertility journey. It also offers a space for families who have “graduated” from infertility—those who are now parenting but still want to remain connected to a community that understands the depth of what they’ve been through.
One of RESOLVE’s most inspiring events is the Walk of Hope, which returns to Charlotte this year on April 26, 2025. This empowering event raises awareness, reduces stigma, and symbolizes the many steps—emotional, physical, and financial—of the infertility journey.
Hosted by community members like Sarah, the Walk of Hope allows families, friends, and advocates to unite in solidarity and support.

As National Infertility Awareness Week approaches, it’s the perfect time to shine a light on the community and resources available for individuals and families struggling to conceive. Sarah’s leadership and lived experience show the power of sharing stories and creating a space where no one has to walk this path alone.
At NicSo Studio, we’re deeply honored to walk alongside this community. In collaboration with Sarah and RESOLVE, we’re planning a special photoshoot for her support group to celebrate their strength and connection. These portraits will be shared with the group and included in our newsletter to uplift and support others needing encouragement during their fertility journey.
We’re also spotlighting our Rainbow Baby Sessions, which are created for families who have experienced pregnancy or infant loss and found hope through a new life. These sessions are crafted with empathy and care, honoring the story behind each family’s journey.
If you’re facing infertility, whether you’re just beginning your journey or have been walking it for years, know this: there is support, there is strength, and there is a community waiting for you.
